"I can't believe we've only met once"
But girl, when you know - you know!
We first met in a the naturally chaotic way that life throws. Trains cancelled, dogs to take to doggy day care, toddlers to take to nursery and frantic messages to make new plans, but an hour or so later, and there we were, sipping Starbucks at a half-way services.
Everything was aligned, our outlook on life, our passion to live it as best as we can, and our heart to support and seek genuine support from others along the way.
And just two weeks later came the first Whatsapps:
"I've been thinking about doing a residential retreat for women, a combination of business coaching and mindset/wellbeing. Fancy exploring it together?"
...
"OMG. Yes yes yes!! I would absolutely LOVE that. Let's get some time in the diary?"
Fastforward and here we are. Presenting, HERtribe. A brand, a mission and a purpose with immense passion and belief firing it the entire way.
Whatever role you're in, or business you're running, life happens.
Shit is thrown at you, that you have no control over, but you still have to meet your personal and professional responsibilities. Life can't jsut stop anymore.
And actually, if you're anything like us, you don't want life's shit to entirely throw you off course, you want to keep going, keep showing up, and keep delivering.
Because even amongst all the shit, you still feel lucky for your life, and you want to live it as best as you can.
But it can be really bloody hard can't it?
We thought this right back when those very first messages were sent, and then within a matter of weeks, both Jen and Alexis' lives were thrown into mutual disarray.
Alexis was faced with supporting her husband through a devastating cancer diagnosis, and beginning the long, challenging road of treatment.
While Jen was thrown into unexpectedly facing life as a single mum of a 2-year old, running her own business, and supporting her beloved Dad through a terminal illness, at just 31.
Never did we need HERtribe more.
And never have we been more determined to bring something we know others need just as much.

Identify as female
We’ve thought carefully about the word tribe and use it with sincere consideration.
A 'tribe' is typically defined as 'a social division in a traditional society consisting of families or communities linked by social, economic, religious, or blood ties, with a common culture,' and for us, the term perfectly captures what we’re building, a space where women feel deeply connected by shared values, shared challenges, support, and purpose.
As a sensitive, and thoughtful community, it's also essential to us that we recognise the cultural roots of the term 'tribe', and that its use must be used with respect and consideration. Our intention is never to cause offence or take lightly the significance it holds. We use it with care and respect, to describe a community where no one has to do the hard stuff alone, and everyone feels they truly belong.
